Gerard Gumbau is considered one of Barcelona’s biggest prospects and showed exactly why with this ingenious finish for the club’s B side on Saturday.

Renowned among the La Masia set-up as a skilful and attack-minded central midfielder who has a knack for scoring free-kicks, Gumbau exemplified his qualities by scoring a wonderful goal against Alcoron.

The 20-year-old’s relegation-threatened side were 2-1 down and had 10 men on the pitch due to a sending off, but Gumbau met a corner with a sublime backheel free kick which looped over the goalkeeper and into the net.

He’s been likened to Sergio Busquets for his technical ability and reading of the game, but this finish was something Lionel Messi would have been proud of.

Great goal.
