Michael Carrick announced on Monday that he expects to retire at the end of the season, and will more than likely join the Manchester United coaching staff.

The 36-year-old joined United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006 for a deal worth £18.6 million and has since gone on to represent the club 463 times.

The England international has pretty much won it all at domestic level.

And social media was warm in its praise.
