You know it’s a slow summer on the football front when Olivier Giroud’s body language is becoming a big talking point.

After speculation that he refused to celebrate Alexandre Lacazette’s goal on debut against Sydney FC, after his fellow Frenchman came in to likely replace him in Arsene Wenger’s attack, Giroud’s behaviour was questioned against Sydney Wanderers on Saturday too.

This time it was the striker who has been at Arsenal for five years who got on the scoresheet, but again his interaction with Lacazette sent viewers into a frenzy.

The incident even sparked the kind of in-depth analysis which is usually reserved for footage of the Kennedy assassination, or the Suarez/Evra non-handshake.

But that was not the end of it. Arsenal fans watching the pre-season friendly also thought Giroud was purposefully not giving the ball to the £53m club record signing.

Ever got the feeling you’ve too much time on your hands?
