Trent Alexander-Arnold’s rapid rise to fame is clearly not affecting his conduct.

The Liverpool right-back – who made his England debut in the 2-0 friendly win over Costa Rica on Thursday evening – is setting a high standard on and off the pitch judging by this episode on social media.

Alexander-Arnold responded to a young Three Lions fan who seemingly could not afford the £1 a letter it would cost to get the player’s name stamped on the back of his England shirt ahead of the World Cup finals.

He was apparently going to settle for a simple Trent until the teenager intervened with as much gusto as he tackles turning out for club and country.

Splendid form from Alexander-Arnold. And that is a full week before England’s first match of the final against Tunisia.
