The League Cup – or the ‘Carabao Cup’ as it is now known – may not be the most prestigious of prizes despite being labelled as a major trophy last season by Jose Mourinho and Manchester United fans. However, it is a competition that gets fans buzzing as it brings the first domestic final of the season.

As the excitement for next season already looms large, the draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup was taking place this afternoon in Bangkok and it was available for football fans to watch on a Facebook Live stream.

However, it was a shoddy attempt at sharing the live draw, combining unavailable sound and a HUGE mistake: Charlton Athletic were drawn TWICE!

Charlton were the fourth ball to be drawn giving them a long midweek trip to Exeter, but viewers were baffled to see the Addicks picked AGAIN as they were drawn at home against Cheltenham Town.

Some Charlton fans were excited at the prospect of facing themselves in the second round:

Others were not so excited:

The mistake was later amended on Twitter and it was revealed that Oxford United will be the team to host Cheltenham. Charlton players can now relax as they won’t be playing twice on one night.
