Crystal Palace sacked manager Frank de Boer on Monday following four straight Premier League defeats.

It comes one day after Palace fell 1-0 at Burnley, with chairman Steve Parish going on to state ‘We have to stick together’ during a series of tweets in response to fans.

But just 24 hours later, De Boer’s 77-day reign is over, and the Palace faithful can’t quite believe it – particularly as it followed Parish’s words at the unveiling that a footballing evolution will take time
