You might expect an outpouring of commiseration after being sacked from a top Premier League job.

But not everyone was feeling sorry for Slaven Bilic following his dismissal from West Ham on Monday.

Not only did Arsenal legend Ian Wright say he was “pleased” the 49-year-old was sacked – albeit due to the stress his friend was under – but former Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa waded in to savage his one-time manager.

Arbeloa spent last season under Bilic before retiring, making just four appearances in all competitions.

“Better late than never,” the Spaniard tweeted, in response to the sacking.

Brutal.

David Moyes is the overwhelming favourite to take over at West Ham after admitting he was interested in the job… while Bilic was still in charge.

Is anyone going to spare a thought for the Croat?!
