You just can’t get it right as a manager. Jurgen Klopp omitted James Milner from his starting line-up for the Champions League clash against Sevilla, preferring Alberto Moreno at left-back.
And it looked a smart move when the Spaniard set up Roberto Firmino for the equaliser in the 21st minute.
But then, just when Klopp thought he had this team selection lark sorted, his Brazilian forward missed a penalty.
Cue calls for the right-footed, 31-year-old Milner, who scored seven penalties last term and only missed one – his first since 2009 – against Southampton.
Many fans came up with a rule change / tactical tweak they thought might help…
Even Milner himself (kind of) agreed with the analysis from the fans…
What a conundrum Mr Klopp!
