We’ve all got a bit carried away after winning a cup final.

A few too many beers, ending up in a dingy club, losing a shoe … etc

But Lillestrom defender Aleksander Melgalvis Andreassen took a different route after his team’s 3-2 victory over Sarpsborg 08 in the Norwegian Cup final.

It was an interesting way to celebrate, not that Melgalvis had an ounce of regret.

“[Winning the cup] was something I never thought I would experience,” he told Dagbladet. “I’ve come a long way to play in a cup final. Of course I can understand that [people thought] it was a bit over the top.

“I’ll admit that and apologise, but it is not something I regret.

But he came in for criticism from the Norwegian FA, who said he should have “shown the cup a bit more respect.”

Le Buzz is inclined to agree. Hopefully it will he washed before next year’s final!
