With Real Madrid appointing Julen Lopetegui after the World Cup is over, plenty are pointing out how this is HUGE news for one current member of the squad.

The Real Madrid midfielder has shone at national level under the 51-year-old’s guidance, with the pair enjoying Euro 2013 success at U21 level when Lopetegui was in charge of the youth team.

Back in January, Lopetegui also called for Isco and Marco Asensio to get more game-time at Real. From August, it’ll be his decision, leaving many to believe the appointment will delight Isco…

In a similar vein, the people of Twitter think it spells bad news for Gareth Bale. The Welshman has been linked with a move to Man Utd this summer, and Lopetegui’s arrival could see the winger head for the departures lounge in Madrid.
