Usain Bolt’s farewell didn’t exactly go according to plan.

Pipped by Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman in the men’s 100m and suffering a hamstring injury in the relay was not the goodbye that the greatest sprinter in history would have envisaged.

But Bolt has been handed a timely boost after the most difficult week of his career.

Who takes the credit for picking Usain up off the canvas?

Manchester United of course.

Bolt’s beloved Red Devils put in one of the best displays in recent years to beat West Ham 4-0 in their first game of the new Premier League season.

Could he maybe turn his hand to a football career now he’s hung the spikes up? Maybe if the hamstring injury clears up…
