Remember Mathieu Debuchy?
The Frenchman moved to Arsenal after the 2014 World Cup, but failed to make an impact at the Emirates.
Sadly Debuchy, now 32, suffered countless injuries in his time in North London, which led to Hector Bellerin securing the right-back position in the first team and ultimately Debuchy’s departure to Saint-Etienne in January.
In a spectacular turn of events, Debuchy has relished his return to France, lighting up Ligue 1 with a goal on his debut and a last-minute equaliser in the Derby du Rhône against Lyon.
The French international incredibly went on to be named as Ligue 1’s Player of the Month for February… beating €222 million signing Neymar to the accolade!
Fans on Twitter couldn’t believe the news and openly celebrated the fact that Neymar missed out to the former Arsenal flop:
Over in North London, the news just gave Arsenal fans another reason to berate their club’s fellow fans, the manager and pretty much the entire club:
Fair play, Mathieu Debuchy… maybe we’ll see you this summer in Russia!
