Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was peeved at his side’s inability to press home their advantage against Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night, branding it “PlayStation football”.
United eased to a 3-0 win on their return to Europe’s premier competition, but Mourinho was upset with his side’s second-half display.
“After 2-0 everything changed, we stopped playing seriously and stopped making right decisions,” Mourinho told BT Sport.
“We could have put ourselves in trouble. We were playing fantasy football, Playstation football. I don’t like it – flicks and tricks.”
However, his jibe reached the folk over at PlayStation, who took issue with Mourinho’s words and responded with a jab of their own…
“Sorry Jose Mourinho, no parked buses at PlayStation… we are here to entertain!” they joked on Twitter.
