Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia, is famously known for the world class talent that it produces. Players such as Xavi, Iniesta and Piqué have graduated from the system and gone on to become world champions.
In fact, there were NINE players in Spain’s 2010 World Cup winning squad who developed at the esteemed academy.
This weekend, the Under-12s from La Masia took part in a La Liga youth tournament: ‘La Liga Promises’.
Barcelona’s La Masia ended up winning the competition and beat hosts, Villarreal, in the final – but the talking point of the tournament was its last goal.
