Gary Taylor-Fletcher has paid a glowing tribute to new club Accrington Stanley, who he says reminds him of Spanish giants Barcelona.
Taylor-Fletcher, 35, who netted twice in 21 outings for Tranmere last season, scored for the English League Two side in a 4-1 EFL Trophy win at Chesterfield.
“I was told Accrington liked to play football but I didn’t understand how much – in the first half it was like watching Barcelona,” said Taylor Fletcher, who has also turned out for Blackpool, Leicester and Sheffield Wednesday before hitting the big time in Accrington.
“I’m a bit lost for words, but it was enjoyable.
“If you made a mistake no one was bothered, it was just ‘get the ball back and keep playing’. You can take risks and that’s what I like.”
Accrington’s Wham Stadium holds just over 5,000 which is slightly smaller than the Nou Camp of just under 100,000.
