Sebastian Vettel ran into the back of title rival Lewis Hamilton while the pair were running first and second behind the safety car at the Azerbaijan GP.
The German claimed Hamilton “brake-tested” him after his Ferrari hit Hamilton’s Mercedes at low speed, causing part of his front wing to come off.
Vettel reacted by pulling alongside Hamilton’s Mercedes and steering into him, causing more contact.
A surprised Hamilton said over his team radio: “Vettel just literally came along side me and turned into me.”
Stewards handed Vettel a 10-second stop-go penalty, while Twitter was quick to pass judgement.
