Neymar broke down in tears during a press conference on Friday night as Brazil coach Tite felt moved to defend the character of his star player.

The most expensive player in the world had already had to fend off suggestions that he is already unhappy with life at Paris Saint-Germain following his £198m move from Barcelona over the summer.

Speaking after scoring his 53rd goal in 82 international appearances in a 3-1 friendly win over Japan, Neymar then saw the media suggest that he had a difficult relationship with national boss Tite.

But Tite strenuously denied such suggestions, and his show of support for Neymar brought an emotional reaction from the player.
