Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane may be very fine, experienced players who have achieved a lot in the game, but – and it’s a big BUT – they are just two people. And when you’re facing 25 opponents, that represents something of a problem.

Former Premier League stalwarts Gerrard and Keane took to the field against 25 eight-year-old children in LA Galaxy’s ‘Ridiculous Soccer Challenge’, and the result was a wildly entertaining match.

Gerrard was in his element, forced as he was to spray 40-yard ‘Hollywood’ passes upfield for the prolific Keane, who hung on the shoulder of the last children to beat the offside trap for a match-winning brace.

The score finished 3-2 to the Galaxy duo, despite fine work from the kids’ team, and everyone was disappointed with the result – well, except perhaps the smug pros.
